Display character count when sharing to Twitter
When the "share to Twitter" checkbox is checked, display remaining characters, considering length of message itself, the hashtag (if any), and the short link.

Put edit button on event page if you created it
If you create an event, you can edit it by going to your events page and clicking the edit button their - but if you're on the actual event page, there's no edit button. A small edit link somewhere on the page would be handy especially for new users - I spent like 5 minutes looking for it, then decided that you couldn't edit events at all... until I finally realized you had to go to events.

Pull tagged tweets into event stream
if someone tweets with the hashtag you've specified for a hot potato event, it should automatically pull that tweet into the event stream (even if they don't have a hot potato account).

to-do list
make a to-do list. when one need to do something, hot potato show a popup and ask the user either to publish the activity or not.

Pull in feeds from Last.fm, Grooveshark, Boxee, IMDB, Getglue, Youtube, Vimeo, Redux etc.
Would be neat to have the above streams etc. automatically entered in hot potato, creating a one-stop hub of what's happening.

make it so that the app picks up the current iTunes track, and auto-fills "I am listening to..."
Take advantage of the fact the device is playing a track and auto-populate.

Create points or badges for most uses for activities and such.
Hot potato is a game traditionally so would be fun if something similar was introduced for folks who are more active with certain events, games, movies, etc or perhaps badges for certain events, contribution or activities unlocked. But done in a way that was more akin to Hot Potato the game than many of the badge systems out there currently.
